From Ad Agencies to Financial Literacy: Creative Writing in the Corporate World
This career choice has definitely been a wild ride so far, and I’ve been lucky enough to experience the best of both worlds — from working in fast-paced, boundary-pushing advertising agencies to now bringing my skills to the client side in the financial sector. It’s been a journey filled with creative challenges and personal growth.
But I am happy to report that after one and a half years spent over the corporate fence, I’ve adapted and survived 🫶🏻.
When I first made the switch to the financial sector, it was super scary. I was used to the fast-paced, creativity-driven environment of advertising agencies, and I wasn’t sure how I’d fit into a stiffer, seemingly sterile industry. But, I was ready for a new challenge and I was excited to see what I could bring to the table.
After all this time, I can say that working as a former ad. copywriter for a pretty big bank has been a surprisingly rewarding experience. Yes, it may not be as focused on creativity as advertising is, but it offers its own set of challenges and rewards. One of the biggest advantages of working in this industry is, obviously, the stability it offers, which is especially great in today’s job market 🙄.
