Absolutely, I don't think vulnerability only applies to non-fiction work. It's a trait every writer should develop, regardless of genre.

And sure, I think you have to believe in your story, whether it is non-fiction, fantasy, sci-fi, to be able to write it well and profoundly. And that also ties back to vulnerability, diving into the story and pulling everything that you can pull out of yourself to create meaning on the page.
